Norman Jacobs is widely respected for his expertise in matrimonial
law, business law matters and entertainment law, and has extensive
experience as a special master, mediator, and arbitrator in complex
civil and probate litigation. He has also represented minor children
and has served as a guardian ad litem in numerous cases. Mr. Jacobs
is a Fellow in both the American College of Trial Lawyers and the
American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers; has served, by appointment
of the justices of the Supreme Judicial Court to the Political Advisory
Committee (1991); and currently serves, by appointment, on the Judicial
Nominating Commission, a position he held previously between 1978
and 1982. Mr. Jacobs is an Honors Graduate from Brandeis University.
He then graduated from Boston College Law School, where he was invited
to membership in the National Honorary Society, the Order of the
Coif, and where he was selected as a member of the editorial board
of the Boston College Law Review. After graduation from law school
in 1964, Mr. Jacobs served as a law clerk of the Honorable G. Joseph
Tauro, then Chief Justice of the Superior Court, before beginning
practice at the Law Offices of Jacobs, Jacobs & Jacobs. Mr.
Jacobs joined Esdaile, Barrett & Esdaile as a partner in 1973.
Presently, Mr. Jacobs is a frequent lecturer and contributor to
continuing legal education through the Massachusetts Bar Association,
Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education, the Massachusetts Academy
of Trial Attorneys. He has been selected as one of the best Family
Law practitioners by Boston Magazine.
